What inspires you?

Greetings Friends!

First of all, I would like to apologize to my Pittsburg, TX friends for the misspelling of their town! It's amusing how often autocorrect gets it wrong!

This summer, I have been focusing on improving my craft and catching up on household projects. I've been a member of Jerry Jenkin's writing guild for a couple of years now and haven't finished some of his trainings, so I made it a goal to finish them this summer! We've also rearranged some of my children's rooms and decluttered, trying to get things in order before the school year starts again.

My next event is the Book Me Romance Event, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. There are still tickets available to attend. You can get yours here.

Recently, I drove through Plain Dealing, Louisiana. The name of the town was so interesting to me, it inspired the setting for a book I'm currently working on, separate from my Shady Springs series. Apparently, Plain Dealing was named so to reflect the honesty and integrity of its founder. Here are a few pictures my son and I took of the town.

It made me wonder what inspires you in your creativity? Nature, a town, a movie or book? Reply back and let me know!

What I've been reading: I read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Trapped by Irene Hannon. I love the regency time period and enjoyed the different character types Austen used in this novel. You can read it for .99 on your kindle!

Irene Hannon is one of my favorite authors. I picked this older book of hers at Half Price Book Store. It did not disappoint. I thought the characters were relatable and not stereotypical at all. The villian was also super creepy. You can check out paperback/hardback options here

Something I've been praying about: If you are wanting to read your Bible through in a year, I am considering opening a chat room in my Facebook group in the mornings at 6 am CT for a 20-minute Bible reading time. If this is something you are interested in let me know, and I will let you know when we start!

CONGRATS TO: This month's free ebook winner is dkskilling! Look for your free kindle book in your email! Please let me know if you haven't received it in the next few days!

Thank you so much for following me on my author journey. If there is anything I can pray with you about, please reply and let me know!

Keep making the impossible possible with God!
